In 2020, Earth’s resources were depleted. To ensure the survival of civilization, society began migrating to the “Smart Society”—a place governed jointly by artificial intelligence and humans, where efficiency reigns supreme and order is absolute.

But the price is memory.

Every resident who moves into the new district must trade their memories to become part of the construction of this “perfect city.” A chip is implanted into your body, and the loss of your memories is quietly recorded deep within your pupils—only on the day they are completely erased will you truly “belong” here.

By 2025, the old city had become a completely deserted ghost town.

You are an intern in the Memory Preservation and Mechanical Maintenance Department, not yet fully “purified,” still straddling the edge between two worlds. In your room, you hide a few old objects that others cannot understand but hold immense significance for you.

Every night, you dream.

In your dreams, the fragments that were taken from you resurface—a childhood bedroom, a forgotten conversation, a person you’ll never see again. The more memories you recover, the closer you get to your true self.

*Dream Vortex* is a 5–7-minute short narrative experience where you follow the protagonist as they navigate several overlapping dream rooms, piecing together the past confiscated by the city bit by bit through exploration and interaction.
